Economic Relief Plan
On March 24, 2020, the YVEA Board of Directors approved an allocation of $50,000 used to create a disaster recovery fund to help qualifying members within the Small and Medium General service class with aid in paying their electric service bills. The fund will be created with unclaimed capital credits. This program is now in development. Please standby for details.
“Electricity is critical to every single business owner and member upon our systems. Without electricity everything is shut down and we won’t allow that to happen. We value all of our members and want to give something back to those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.” Tom Fox, YVEA Board Chairman.
Making Payments, New Service/Connects and Disconnects & New Construction
To support our Members who may be impacted by Colorado’s response the COVID-19, YVEA has temporarily suspended non-payment disconnects until further notice.
While no disconnection of service will be implemented on the Small and Medium General service classes, Member Service representatives are working to setup payment arrangements. This is not a debt forgiveness program as YVEA members are still expected to pay your bill when you are able. If you are unable to pay your bill at this time, please make a payment arrangement by emailing email@example.com or call 970-879-1160.
YVEA is encouraging members to conduct business for payments, new service connects, disconnects and new construction from home. Be Alert and Watch Out for Scammers
As always, members should be on the lookout for suspicious emails, phone calls, or persons impersonating business employees or charitable organizations. Unfortunately, scammers take advantage of opportunities such as this when households are otherwise preoccupied. If you get a call from someone claiming to represent YVEA, and they make threats or demand immediate payment, hang up and call us at (970) 879-1160.
Continue to report power outages by calling our main line at 970-879-1160 or via our SmartHub app.
In-home energy evaluations will not be conducted at this time. Members can call our Energy Solutions Analyst for remote energy advising at 970-846-3126.
YVEA meeting facilities are closed to all public events. Existing events will be cancelled or postponed.
Board meetings, beginning with the March 24th meeting, will be held remotely via video conference. The public will be able to participate virtually but must RSVP for access to the meeting. Details will be made available at: yvea.com/board-meeting-information.
