Since 1940, Yampa Valley Electric has met the electricity needs of its member-owners. YVEA’s principal goal has always been to provide quality service to our members. Providing electric service has meant not only dependable, low cost electricity but also innovative programs designed to aid our members and communities.
Operation Round Up (ORU) is a program adopted by over 250 coops around our nation. Monthly electric bills of participating members are automatically rounded up to the nearest dollar, for an average donation of $6.00 per year. Those pennies are put into a fund from which donations are made to non-profit organizations.
Operation Round Up has a separate Board of Directors from that of Yampa Valley Electric. The current Operation Round Up Board includes Director Mr. Ken Rogers, Ms. Becky Sharp, Ms. Cindy Svendson, Ms. Christina Oxley, and Ms. Sharon Farquhar. Mr. Mike Beyer is the Board Secretary/Treasurer. This Board of Directors is responsible for allocating the funds raised through our member participation.
Funding from Operation Round Up is for non-profit organizations that are non-profit organizations within YVEA’s service territory.
