We cannot control the costs that our power provider passes on to us, their business decisions, or the investments they are making in the system. This creates vulnerability for our membership, which motivated us to issue a request proposals from a new power supplier and to sign a 15-year contract with Guzman Energy. While Guzman should help us stabilize energy costs for our members, we will still pay transmission costs to Xcel Energy for using their lines to deliver energy to the Yampa Valley.
