Residential Lightbulb Recycling Ending March 1st, 2022

With the opening of Yampa Valley Sustainability Council's Recycling Depot, starting on March 1st, YVEA will no longer be a collection point for residential lightbulb recycling. For more details on the recycling Depot, please visit click here.

YVEA has partnered with Brite Ideas in Glenwood Springs, CO to accept residential light bulbs at its YVEA Office, 2211 Elk River Road, during regular business hours, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This program makes it easy to recycle residential compact fluorescent (CFL) light bulbs, which is important because CFL light bulbs contain small amounts of mercury, making them hazardous waste and illegal to dump in landfills. Residents can drop off their CFL lightbulbs at special containers located in the YVEA office reception area. Please note we do not accept fluorescent light tubes of any size.

This program is for residential light bulbs only. Contractors, businesses and other commercial or large scale operation in need of bulb recycling can contact Cody Skurupey,, or call 970-290-3379 to schedule a pick-up.
